NEW SERMON SERIES
January - March 2007

A Study of the
Tabernacle
This sermon series Intimacy with God will focus on the Old Testament
tabernacle and how it points to and is fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
God’s foremost desire is to dwell with His
people,
to restore the fellowship that was
broken by sin and God longs for that
fellowship to be restored. The tabernacle points us to this desire of God.
God’s desire is realized in Christ - Jesus Christ makes this possible. This is
our reward, the very presence of God, and
we need to realize that this is enough.
We often long for something else in our Christian life. We long for hope, or
peace, or whatever. But the reward of the Christian life is the realization of
God’s desire – that we be in full fellowship with
Him.
A
series of daily readings and questions has been designed by Pastor Tom Cullen to
lead up to the sermon for the coming week. There are six daily studies for each
week. Allow about 20 minutes a day to complete each daily devotional. For
small groups studying this sermon series, these passages could form the basis
for group discussion. Additional group questions will be provided after
each sermon.
We read in Exodus
40:34 that after the Tabernacle was built and the sacrifices were offered, the “glory
of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Moses could not enter the Tent of
Meeting because the cloud had settled upon it and the glory of the Lord filled
the tabernacle.” That is the goal of this sermon series study - that is
where we want to arrive.
As you progress through the sermon
series, let
your prayer be that you would live so intimately with God that His glory would
fill you and consequently the church.
